Gunmen killed an elderly woman, her daughter and grandson in Waterford, St Catherine on Sunday night, erasing members of three generations of one family.

The deceased have been identified as Pamela Russell, 74; Shermella Russel Craig, 48; and Romario Craig, 22 .

“The triple murder happened at about 9.20 pm. They were in the living room when men posing as robbers demanded money and valuables, that was not really their intent. The men opened fire, hitting them, Russell-Craig died while being treated, while Romario Craig and Russell were pronounced dead at the Spanish Town Hospital,” a representative of the CCU told reporter Claude Mills.

The family home is located at Clanton Road in Waterford. A sombre mood has taken over Vaz Preparatory School in St Andrew as administrators, teachers, and students were plunged into mourning following the shooting death of a teacher, Shermilla Russell-Craig.

The St Catherine South police are investigating.
