A Trelawny man believed to be involved in lottery scamming was yesterday arrested along with two other occupants of his home after police reported found an illegal firearm at the premises.
The detainees are 21-year-old care taker Chad-Wane Lewin, 29-year-old Joedia Palmer, a sales representative and a teenage boy all of Coral Spring in Duncans, Trelawny.
The police reported that members of the Counter Terrorism and Organised Crime Investigation Branch (C-TOC) conducted two operations in the area between 11:00 am and 6:00 pm yesterday and during a search of the two bedroom house occupied by the individuals, one FNH 5.7 Pistol fitted with an empty magazine was found along with a visa debit card and a Samsung cellular phone.
An analysis of the cellular phone, revealed images of identity information of people believed to be residing overseas, said the police.
The three people were subsequently charged with illegal possession of firearm, while Lewin was additionally charged with possession of identity information with intent and possession of access device.
A court date will be announced at a later date.
