A warrant has been issued for the arrest of Jamaica Observer Managing Director Danville Walker.

The warrant was issued Wednesday in the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court.

The warrant came after Walker — who heads ATL’s retail division — missed his court date in a matter concerning the Office of the Contractor General.

Walker — who is charged with breaching the Contractor General Act — is said to have missed his last three court dates.

Walker is charged with failure to comply in the required time with a request from the Office of the Contractor General — and obstructing an investigation of the office into breaches by the Customs Department.

The OCG had launched an investigation into allegations that the Customs Department had allowed the export of scrap metal despite a ban on the industry at the time.

The shipment was made at the time when Walker headed the Customs Department.
