Daniel James, one of six prisoners who escaped from the Linstead Police lock-up in St Catherine on Tuesday night, was recaptured in Banbury, St Catherine this morning.

James, 22, is from Troja in St Catherine and was on a charge for rape.

He was recaptured about 7:30am.

He is the second prisoner to be recaptured after fellow escapee, Alwayne Shakespeare, was held in the Linstead Market yesterday.

According to reports, police at the facility went to make checks about 9:30 pm and discovered that several of the inmates were missing.

The other four escapees on the run are:

1. Shane Wellington, 25-year-old of Cassava Pond, Ewarton, St Catherine. He was charged with murder and frequents Ewarton and Breadnut Hill in St Ann.

2. Ezroy Cohen, 28-year-old of Banbury, Linstead. He was charged for Burglary and Rape.

3. Damion Daley, 24-year-old of Banbury Linstead. He was charged for Arson.

4. Anthony Jarrett, 29-year-old of Mountain Pass, Linstead and Church Pen, Old Harbour both in St Catherine. He was charged for murder.

The police are asking the men on the run to surrender. Anyone with information as to their whereabouts is being asked to call the Linstead police 985-2285, police 119 emergency number or the nearest police station.
